How To Make Buttercream

Buttercream is an essential ingredient in our party cakes recipes. We've teamed up with expert Sugarcrafter Jan Clement-May and sugarcraft school, Squires Kitchen, to show you how to make it.

Step 1:


You will need

  • 120 g softened butter
  • 280 g icing sugar

Step 2:

Cream the butter

Cream the butter in a bowl using the back of a wooden spoon. Keep stirring until it's of a creamy consistency.

Step 3:

Sugar

Add the icing sugar a spoonful at a time, continuing to cream the butter between each spoonful, until all the sugar's been mixed in.
